Warning Description: Special Weather Statement

Warning Date: 10:36 PM CDT on July 3, 2009

WarningSum:...Maximum Heat Index Values Between 105 And 109 Degrees Expected
On The Fourth Of July...

Warning Message:The combination of hot temperatures and high moisture content
will result in heat indices between 105 and 109 degrees inclusive
on the Fourth of July. These indices are generally expected from
late Saturday morning though early Saturday evening. Heat indices
in a few locations could reach 110 degrees for less than two
hours.
Residents planning outdoor activities on the Fourth of July
should prepare for these potentially dangerous heat indices.
If you plan to venture outdoors Saturday...drink plenty of
water...wear light weight and light colored clothing...and take
frequent breaks from the heat. Young children and pets should
never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This
is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors
can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
